We Do It For Them

We Do It For Them. We Do It For Justice!

Additional motivation for me is all the pure and innocent children of the world who don’t yet know hate. Little humans that ARE Pure Light, who have not experienced what racism even means.

Although the week came to an end, the fight does not! The desire to want to be better and do better does not! That part of me will go on forever!

As I reflect on all that I have learned this week, I can’t HELP but be MOVED by everything that HAS ALREADY CHANGED in a short week! Y’all are POWERFUL! STRONGER TOGETHER Never Meant More Than It Does Now!

I know there is STILL a long WAY to go in our journey to fight for justice and for what is right but DAMN did people SHOW UP AND WAKE UP this week!

I learned that having a belief around anything – in this example – Racism – it is NOT enough to just be “Not Racist!” If I see or hear anything inappropriate or an injustice happening it IS my RESPONSIBILITY to stand up for what I know in my heart is right! The fight for “Anti – Racism MUST continue!

I have always felt that I have had a healthy moral compass BUT even I, myself, have let small things slide at times to appease the “group” that I am with. I am taking a stand and letting everyone know that that will be no longer.

I am talking as small as a racial or an inappropriate joke. If you have a racial, homosexual, transgender, sexist, derogatory, or vulgar thing to say — aim it elsewhere. Actually DON’T aim it ANYWHERE! Nobody wants to hear it. And unlike in the past, where I may have kindly told you that it made me uncomfortable, I will now lovingly tell you that if it continues I will respectfully be leaving, or ask you to leave. Whether our friendship continues past that point will be entirely up to you.

I learned that the power of having loving and respectful racial conversations at home with our children is vital piece in all of this because although some of our children may not yet be exposed to People Of Color, one day very soon they will be! And I KNOW MANY of you are just like me, and you DESIRE for every word and action towards ANY HUMAN to be that of Love and Light!

I learned SO MUCH MORE but MOSTLY I learned how powerful we ALL are if we are passionate enough to get behind the movement and TRULY CREATE CHANGE!

I am taking time to see that there is beauty in what’s happening if we stop to take a look around in the midst of all the darkness and chaos!

When is the last time you remember (if ever) a time in our lives where we’ve come TOGETHER to FIGHT and BAND TOGETHER on a National and International Level!?

I get excited when I think to myself, “Once we (the world) conquer these injustices, what can we take on and conquer next?! I know there is a long way to go, but I am so encouraged and inspired by EVERY Voice I Heard – and Face I Saw – Standing Up for this movement. And, I applaud EVERY PERSON who won’t ever stop! (Because I know I never will either!) Together We Stand! United We Stand!

Thank you to every person who took the time to write encouraging messages, share resources, and express that you were learning right along side me! I would LOVE to hear what you have all learned this week and what great tips you have to continue to expose and nurture our children to be the MOST Loving and Caring generation of All…. That is Powerful Motivation! WE DO IT FOR THEM!

Thank you for taking the time to read what is on my heart,

Additional Resources

I thought I would add a petitions, songs, movies and resources that I found moving or inspiring. I will continue to add anything I find helpful along the journey here in this space if you would like to save this blog for future reference.

Petitions to Sign

I have learned that aside from using my voice, on public platforms or during protests I still have power at home! There is power in numbers and that is exactly what signing a petition does! It empowers those of us at home who may not be able to physically go out publicly. – So here is a link that I found helpful! Tap the image to SIGN NOW!
