Hello World!
To Blog or Not to Blog? That is the question…
Welcome to Keeping It Kissel! I have gone back and forth on this question for SO MANY YEARS! To blog or not to blog? Sure, I have a lot to say, and yes, I find writing somewhat therapeutic, but I didn’t know where to begin or how to start a ‘blog’. In fact, I was SO unsure about what I was going to do that I just decided to start writing everything down, and figure out the rest. So, that’s what I did. I started to write down everything that I could possibly think of.
Most would consider this form of writing as journaling, but here is what I found… For me, I noticed that often I would write in a certain way, like I was writing an open letter — an open letter to all of you! Yes, you!
Any of you who are taking the time to read this.
They quickly became open letters from my heart to yours. A letter that was open to interpretation. A letter with no judgment. A letter to start a conversation. And a letter that you could write back to (if you wanted.)
In fact I welcome that. With all of me, I welcome that!
I long for what many of us long for: human connection, inspiration, love, and passion (Passion like the fire of a thousand suns — as I’ve often described it.)
In these open letters I want to share what I can with you, and what I’ve learned along the way. And I hope I get to read about what you all have learned, too! I find it to be a great privilege to get to talk about what I am still working on, and use you all as a sounding board.
If by sharing I reach, touch, move, inspire or spark joy in EVEN ONE OF YOU then that would fulfill me in so many ways. Inspiring you inspires me, and that is the big purpose / the big goal for me…
It would be my honor and privilege to be read by you!
So, thank you! Thank you from the bottom of my soul for stopping by and taking the time to read what we’ve created. Thank you for enjoying all that we are sharing with you on this site.

Cecilia I think what you have decided to do is awesome. I always enjoy reading about Brett and you and your children. You have a awesome family. I met Brett years ago when he was at Big Valley jamboree. I think he was 12 or 13. Anyway I had him sign my cowboy hat and I told him then that I would have his autograph when he became a big star. I love his music. # Fan For Life!

Admire your honesty, hard work and love for your family. As humans we are meant to connect and inspire each other. I agree, we are all in this together. I met Brett last year in Calgary. The first thing that he said to me was thank you for supporting my family. I had been a follower on your gram for a while. It was so lovely to see how proud he was of you and your kids. As an old political hand, someone who works way to much, who with my wife are taking two kids both now in university, I am looking to only read, listen to wonderful Canadians who warm my heart. I love your letter it is so open and you are a great inspiration for so many people including me I read the letter and it brought a smile to my face after having a really rough afternoon this afternoon it was great to read this letter and find some positivity with all busyness in my life this is where I’m going to come every day to find some rest
